GREEN TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) - Cincinnati Children's Hospital is expanding to Green Township with a new outpatient location.
The hospital has purchased 8.3 acres of land off Harrison Avenue to build a 60,000 plus square-food facility. It will feature pediatric clinics, therapies, urgent care and laboratory and radiology services.
The hospital decided on the location partly because of the lack of pediatric care in the western Cincinnati area. Officials hope this new facility will help to decrease wait times at the Cincinnati Children's Burnet Avenue campus and improve scheduling throughout the main hospital.
Construction on the new building is set to begin October 1 with an open date in early 2013. Cincinnati Children's currently has 10 outpatient locations.
