CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - A former teacher has been sentenced for sexually abusing a female student.
Matthew Herrmann, 36, was sentenced to 26 years in prison and will have to register as a sexual offender for the rest of his life.
Herrmann is a former teacher at St. Dominic in Delhi. His charges stemmed from incidents involving two teenage girls.
Herrmann cried during his sentencing, saying he would never hurt anyone. His wife also asked Judge Robert Winkler to giver her husband leniency.
Herrmann had been facing 19 charges, but as part of a plea deal, he pled guilty to two counts each of sexual battery, illegal use of a minor in nudity oriented material and importuning. The other charges were dropped.
He faced a maximum of 30 years in prison.
