WEST CHESTER, OH (FOX19) - A grandfather accused of shooting his 2-year-old granddaughter is out of jail after posting an $11,000 bond on Monday.

Albert Ibold, 69, is charged with child endangerment and handling weapons while intoxicated.

Police say Ibold accidentally shot Allison Ibold, 2, in the abdomen on Sunday night on Tri-County View Drive near Maulhauser Road in West Chester.

"Grandpa was showing the guns off to one of his other grandchildren and during that time the weapon accidentally discharged into the two year old," said Offc. Jeff Newman of the West Chester Police Department.
"It sounded like something fell in our apartment, and so we went into check it out and didn't see anything fell, and my husband opened up the door to our apartment and heard a lot of yelling and screaming," said Shelly Daniels, who lives in the apartment next door.
Police say the 2-year-old girl and her 5-year-old brother had spent the day at the pool with Grandpa. According to the 911 call, both grandchildren and two of the suspect's sons were in the condo when the shooting happened.
Neighbors say they're unsettled and disturbed by the incident.
"Still to have guns next door that people aren't being safe with is pretty upsetting, especially with children there," Daniels said.

The child was conscious and alert when transported to the hospital, and she was expected to be released from the Hospital on Monday.

Albert Ibold had a video arraignment in Hamilton Municipal Court on Monday and later posted bond and was released from jail. He has a preliminary hearing set for July 19.
