CONNERSVILLE, IN (FOX19) - Indiana authorities are investigating the drowning of a 6-year-old boy in the Whitewater River.
Investigators say Michael Gentry was swimming with his 10-year-old sister in Connersville just before 8 p.m. Sunday night.
The mother, Ashley Gentry, was close by and observed both siblings enter into deeper water, when the 6-year-old went beneath the surface.
The boy was located in about 10 feet of water at about 8:30 p.m. He was taken to Fayette Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
