LIBERTY TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) - Monday night the Lakota school board made the first step toward putting a 4.75 mil levy on the November ballot.
The levy would cost the owner of a $100,000 home $145 per year. The levy is less substantial than the one on the ballot in November of last year.
"I think if we can get this 4.75 levy right now, the thing that really takes care of is that spending deficit we have been talking about," said Ron Spurlock, interim superintendent.
Board members say they will continue to take community input about the mill amount and must make its final decision to put a levy on the November ballot by August 10.
