A Lawrenceburg man with open warrants is behind bars after police say he asked police for a ride to work.
Police say Forrest Clinger, 26, frantically waved down an Aurora Police sergeant on Monday and asked for a ride to work because his ride failed to show up.
The sergeant agreed to give him a ride, but checked his identification through the state's computer system for warrants. While en route to Clinger's place of employment, the sergeant was alerted by dispatch that Clinger had an active warrant for his arrest for a probation violation.
Instead of getting a ride to work, Clinger was given a ride to the Dearborn County Law Enforcement Center.
