Man pleads guilty to Indiana robbery

A Dayton, Ohio man has pleaded guilty to robbing a bank last summer.

Lonnie Ray Johnson, 55, robbed the United Community Bank in Lawrenceburg on June 3, 2010. He was scheduled to go on trial on July 18, but instead pled guilty to one count of robbery.

Johnson faces a maximum of eight years in prison when he is sentenced on August 2.

Johnson's identity was determined through review of bank surveillance video and video and gambling records from Hollywood Casino, where Johnson was a frequent visitor. He was arrested in October in San Diego, Calif. and extradited back to Lawrenceburg.

Dearborn County Prosecutor Aaron Negangard said Johnson has a extensive felony record from the state of Michigan, and is a suspect in a bank robbery in Troy, Ohio, which occurred the day before the Lawrenceburg robbery.

Negangard said he intents to seek the maximum imprisonment for Johnson.
