DAYTON, OH (AP) - Authorities in western Ohio say a man is in custody after a standoff at a house that temporarily closed part of Interstate 75.
Police say the standoff began after 5:30 p.m. Friday in a neighborhood near the highway. The area was evacuated, and a nearby portion of the interstate was temporarily closed later that night as police fired tear gas into the home.
Neighbors say the man had been outside, shooting a firearm into the air, and then locked himself in the house. Police persuaded him to surrender early Saturday morning.
Police did not immediately release his name or information about any charges he could face.
No injuries were reported.
