Marital happiness linked to your weight

KNOXVILLE, TN (FOX19) - The key to a happy marriage may be tied to your Body Mass Index (BMI).

Researchers at the University of Tennessee say both men and women were happier in marriage if the wife had a lower BMI than the husband.

Nearly one hundred seventy newlywed couples took two questionnaires about their marital bliss every six months for four years.

The studies show that husbands who maintained a higher BMI than their wives remained happier than those who had the same or lower BMI.

The trend was also the same way from wives.

The findings appear in the latest issue of 'Social Psychology and Personality Science'.
