Police say Stoinoff violently shook his 1-month-old niece, Roslyn Stoinoff, to death on July 12. He asked to hold the baby, then shook her while his mother and sister tried to get him to stop. Roslyn died at Children's Hospital of blunt impacts to the head and torso.
Stoinoff was recently released from psychiatric treatment before staying with the family. He is being held at the Hamilton County Justice Center on a $1 million bond.
He was originally charged with aggravated murder, but was indicted on an additional charge of murder.
