Truck fire added to traffic woes on Brent Spence Bridge

COVINGTON, KY (FOX19) -

A truck fire on the Brent Spence Bridge added to the traffic mess on southbound I-75/71 late Saturday afternoon.

The truck fire started at around 5:00 pm near the 5th St exit in Covington. No one was injured in the fire, but crews had to close down all but the far right lane on the highway to clean up the mess.

Traffic this weekend was already delayed to construction on southbound I-71/75 a few miles further south of where the accident happened. That construction blocked the two right lanes on the highway.

Crews cleared the mess at around 6:30 pm. Traffic is still affected by the construction on the highway.
