HILLSBORO, OH (FOX19) - One man is behind bars following an armed robbery at the Hillsboro Days Inn early Sunday morning.
Police say just before 2 a.m., a man wearing a hoodie and carrying a knife walked into the motel on Harry Sauner Road and demanded money from the clerk. The suspect then took money from the cash drawer and left.
Upon arrival to the scene, K-9 units were able to locate a scent and followed it to a nearby apartment on Cedarwood Drive. Police say a man was in the apartment and agreed to a search of the residence. During the search, police found evidence related to the robbery and arrested the man at the apartment, Darryl Watson, 25.
Watson is charged with aggravated robbery. He's being held at the Highland County Justice Center and will appear before a judge Monday morning.
