CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - The Bengals signed four of their eight selections from the 2011 draft, including WR A.J. Green of Georgia, the league's No. 4 overall selection.
Also signing on Thursday were S Robert Sands of West Virginia (fifth round), WR Ryan Whalen of Stanford (sixth round) and CB Korey Lindsey of Southern Illinois (seventh round).
"We're excited to have all these players ready to go from day one," said head coach Marvin Lewis. "And of course the biggest news is A.J. I credit our organization, A.J. and his representatives for coming together to get this done."
"I'm glad it's over and it's great to be here," said Green. "I want to be a great player my first year in the NFL and now I'll have the fullest chance I can to get there. Tell all the Bengals fans I'm looking forward to seeing them at training camp."
Green joined teammates for meetings and pre-camp medical testing Thursday at Paul Brown Stadium. Following more duties at PBS Friday morning, players will report to training camp at Georgetown College. The first practice of camp is scheduled for 3 p.m. Saturday.
"I think the fans at camp are going to very quickly see the great physical skills that A.J. has displayed his entire football career," said wide receivers coach James Urban. "He can absolutely make the spectacular catch."
Green will help fill the spot that is being left by Chad Ochocinco, who was traded to the Patriots on Thursday.
