When the balloons inflated, so did 1 man's career

COSTA MESA, Calif. (AP) - All 15-year-old Treb Heining wanted back in 1969 was a cool summer job hawking balloons at Disneyland.

He got that and more.

Forty-two years later, Heining, 57, is The Balloon Man. He's the go-to guy if you want to drop balloons by the millions on a Super Bowl, a presidential convention or most any other huge public event.

Or if you simply want to take your little Mylar pet balloon for a walk. Heining came up with the idea for those things too.

The Mickey Mouse balloon inside a bigger balloon? Yep, that was his.

What's more, he can inflate and tie a thousand balloons an hour.

In some ways he didn't come very far in the world in 42 years, Heining says.

But in others, his accomplishments really ballooned.
