A crash involving a fire truck and car sent five people to the hospital Wednesday morning in Avondale.
The crash occurred around 8:30 a.m. at the corner of Reading and Avon. Cincinnati Police say that Cincinnati Fire Department Engine Company 32 was traveling north on Reading in emergency mode to respond to a structure fire. The driver of the fire truck went left of center, lost control and struck a telephone pole.
The fire truck rotated off the telephone pole and and struck a Chevrolet Malibu that was traveling south on Reading Road.
Four firefighters were taken to University of Cincinnati Hospital. The firefighters were all treated and released with minor injuries.
The Driver of the Malibu, Tarah Lewis transported herself to Jewish Hospital and was also treated and released for minor injuries. Lewis' two minor children who were in the car were not injured.
The Cincinnati Traffic Unit is continuing to investigate the incident. Any witnesses to the crash are asked to call the Traffic Unit at 513-352-2514.
