COVINGTON, KY (FOX19) - A Covington City Commissioner who was arrested for drunk driving over the weekend has pleaded guilty.

Steven Frank, 55, was arrested early Saturday morning after disregarding a stop sign and then taken into custody when it was discovered that he had been drinking.

Frank was given a suspended 7-day jail sentence and a 60-day license suspension. He must take a driver-alcohol education class that he says he has already signed up for.

Frank was released from jail Saturday afternoon, and posted a note on his Facebook page that read:

"All; I made a seriously bad error in judgment last night and was pulled over and had to spend the night, courtesy of Covington's finest and Kenton County. No one is above the law and I will accept whatever judgment both the courts and you have about my transgression. Everybody involved was professional and courteous and I know that I have let many of you down, my wife most especially. Please, whatever you do, if you are at all close to being over the line; get a cab or call a friend. Mea Maxima Culpa."

Frank has held his commissioner position since January
