ANDERSON TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) - A woman has been arrested for stealing from a jewelry store.
Ella Rideout, 50, is charged with theft. She was arrested Wednesday at her home.
The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office says the incident occurred July 30 at Markus Jewelry Store in Anderson Township. Two women entered the store, and while one of them talked to store employee, the other (Rideout) went to a different area of the store and removed several pieces of jewelry.
The theft was later observed on video surveillance cameras. Rideout returned to the same store on Wednesday and was recognized by employees as the individual from the earlier theft. Rideout became nervous and exited the store; however, employees obtained a license plate number which identified her residence.
Rideout who subsequently admitted to the theft and to pawning the jewelry at Damon's Gold Rush pawn shop utilizing her sister's operator's license (without her sister's knowledge). Rideout indicated she was the only one responsible for the theft and selling of the stolen jewelry.
Markus Jewelers purchased the jewelry back from the pawn shop.
