The Urban Pastors of the Presbytery of Cincinnati and the Metropolitan Area Religious Coalition of Cincinnati (MARCC) along with other local faith leaders hosted an interfaith prayer vigil Wednesday morning to support the Cincinnati Union Bethel's Anna Louise Inn in advance of a scheduled hearing.
Western & Southern has filed a lawsuit against the City of Cincinnati and the Inn to stop renovation of the 102-year-old inn.
Cincinnati Union Bethel operates the inn near Lytle Park and wants to do a $12.4 million renovation. The inn provides safe and affordable housing for single women.
However, Western & Southern wants to buy the property. The company says the group can build a new building and is suing to stop the renovation.
A hearing was scheduled for Wednesday morning, but delayed after a motion to dismiss was filed. Judge Norbert Nadel gave Cincinnati Union Bethel officials one week to turn in case work to the judge and he will determine if the lawsuit will be dismissed.
