Man held on $10,000 bond after running from police

MIDDLETOWN, OH (FOX19) -

A man is arrested after he ran from police during a drug investigation.

Officers say they were in the 3900 block of Roosevelt Boulevard on Friday when they saw Travis Reed holding what appeared to be crack cocaine. Officers say Reed ran away when they tried to approach him.

Police say while Reed was running, he threw a gun into the creek at Shady Creek Apartments. Police then lost sight of Reed. Officers later tracked down Reed with the help of a K9 officer. He was hiding under a porch in the 300 block of Lylburn Drive.

Reed was arrested and charged with Having Weapons under Disability, Resisting Arrest and Obstructing Official Business. His bond has been set at $10,000.

He is scheduled to appear in the Middletown Municipal Court on August 15 at 9 a.m.
