CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Hundreds of mourners gathered Saturday to say goodbye to a teenager who died after being tasered by UC Police.

Everette Howard, 18, was remembered at New Mission Baptist Church by family, friends and community members. Following the visitation and funeral, Howard was laid to rest at Spring Grove Cemetery.

Howard died on August 6th during a dispute at a UC dormitory. Police say they received a call about an assault in progress, and when they arrived, Howard approached them outside appearing agitated and angry with his fist balled. When he refused officers' orders to back off, he was subdued with a taser.

Shorty after being tased, Howard was transported to the hospital where he later died.

State authorities are investigating the death and the protocol followed by police during the incident. The officer that tased Howard is currently on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.
