UPDATE: Ramp from I-275 to I-74 reopened after accident

WHITEWATER TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) -

An overturned tractor trailer shut down the ramp from I-275 N to I-74 W for several hours on Saturday.

According to ARTIMIS, the accident happened around 5:30 p.m. and the ramp didn't reopen until 1 a.m. on Sunday.

The driver, Zlatko Pupic of Virginia, failed to maintain control of his vehicle when traveling on the ramp and exited to the left side of the roadway, overturning the trailer. Pupic was taken to University Hospital for minor injuries.

At the time of the crash, the trailer was carrying 26,000 pounds of books. Much of the ramp's closure time was due to clean-up of the spilled materials.

Police say alcohol and drugs were not a factor in this crash. Pupic was cited for Failing to Maintain Reasonable Control of his Vehicle.
