INDIANAPOLIS, IN (FOX19) - A mother and daughter from northern Kentucky are among the injured from a stage collapse at the Indiana State Fair in Indianapolis.

Family members tell us Shannon Walcott and her daughter were seriously hurt in Saturday's accident. The two were among hundreds of concert-goers waiting for country act Sugarland to perform.

"We're very hopeful. We just really want people to pray for both of them and also for everyone that has been affected by the falling of the structure, that everybody will progress and get better," says Shannon's brother, Scott Berger.

Indiana State Police say four people died when the collapse happened and a fifth person died overnight at a hospital. In addition, 45 people were taken to hospitals.

Officials say strong winds are to blame for the toppling of the stage. When it fell, it slammed into both Shannon and her daughter.

Shannon sustained broken ribs and a broken pelvis. She is being treated for her injuries. Her daughter is in critical condition.

'"She's been to like 4 or 5 Sugarland concerts, she's been to Louisville, they've been to Nashville, they've been to Chicago, I think. I mean, they have been to all of them," says sister-in-law Trisha Kissel. "Shannon saves and save so that they can be right up close. She, well, she gives up a lot of things to be up close."

We're told Shannon and her daughter are huge Sugarland fans. The picture seen in this article is from a previous concert of the band that the two attended.

A prayer service will be held for Shannon and her daughter at the Ft. Mitchell Baptist Church at 8:00 Sunday night.
