Son of former Gov. Julian Carroll killed in crash

FRANKFORT, KY (AP) -

Authorities say that a son of state Sen. Julian Carroll has been killed in a one-vehicle crash in Franklin County.

Franklin County Coroner Will Harrod says 47-year-old Bradley Carroll died from injuries when his vehicle struck a concrete wall Sunday afternoon. He says Bradley Carroll was taken to Frankfort Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Harrod says Carroll was alone traveling north on U.S. 421 when he lost control of his vehicle.

Authorities say the crash is still under investigation but said they have no reason to suspect drugs or alcohol were involved.

Julian Carroll is a former Kentucky governor who now serves in the state Senate.
