BROWN COUNTY, OH (FOX19) - The Brown County Sheriff's Office and the US Marshal's Office announced Tuesday that they have conducted a large warrant sweep in the area.
Police say that a total of 84 out of 133 warrants were cleared during the warrant sweep. Police arrested 15 people during the sweep, and found 39 people located at other jail facilities.
Three of the people wanted in the warrant sweep were determined to be deceased, and 26 located outside the extradition authority.
Additionally, the U.S. Marshal's Office has 10 cases in review for USMS adoption.
United States Marshal Cathy Jones said in a statement, "The collaborative investigative efforts of our partnering federal, state, and local law enforcement in Ohio and Kentucky demonstrate our commitment to make our communities safer. Fugitives often mistakenly assume jurisdictional boundaries will hinder our ability to locate and arrest them. We are proud to support the Brown County Sheriff and his office."
