UNION TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) -

Union Township Police Officers arrested a man after a short police chase that ended in a backyard pool.

At about 2:00 pm, Union Township Police say they responded to the area of SR 125 at Bennett Rd for a subject with a Federal warrant. When police located the suspect, he then fled from officers in a vehicle, striking a police cruiser.

Police say the man continued to flee in the vehicle south on Bennett Rd. until the vehicle crashed into a pool at the rear of a house on the 3700 block of Bennett Rd. The man then left the vehicle and started running away on foot.

Gregory Speakman, 30, was later apprehended in the wooded area near Gaskins Rd., and was taken into custody without further incident.

Speakman is currently in the Clermont County Jail. If you have any information on the investigation, please contact Union Township Police Department at (513) 752-1230.
