COLERAIN TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) - Many people have played on a playground for hours, but imagine building one in less than six hours.
That's exactly what more than 200 people did on Saturday at the Clippard Family YMCA in Colerain Township.
Volunteers helped with a variety of tasks including assembling pieces together, creating planters, painting and mulching.
"In six hours we put together an entire playground plus amenities around our campus," said Volunteer Co-Chair Laura Kumler. "It's about getting that family spirit, really connecting us. It's not only for the kids, but to make sure everyone takes ownership of it and it's to last for a lifetime."
The playground is 2600 square feet. It will open on Wednesday after all the concrete dries and an inspection is done.
