Police investigate body found in Mason

MASON, OH (FOX19) -

Police are investigating the discovery of a body in Mason as a suicide.

The person was found in a tree-lined area in the 7300 block of Snider Road near Portion Pac, a packaging company for Heinz products.

Police say the male victim is an employee of the business. The person's age and name have not been released pending notification of next of kin.

Police say there were no signs of foul play.

Heinz released the following statement:

"We are deeply saddened by the news that one of our employees has died unexpectedly.  We extend our deepest sympathy and condolences to his family and friends during this very difficult time.  Heinz is cooperating fully with the authorities to investigate this tragic incident. 

"We take the health, safety and wellbeing of our employees very seriously and are providing onsite support and grief counseling services to our employees and the employee's family in the wake of this sad event.  

"Given that the investigation is ongoing, it would be in appropriate for Heinz to comment any further on the matter."
