ALEXANDRIA, KY (FOX19) - A benefit has been scheduled for a mother and daughter who were injured in the stage collapse at the Indiana State Fair.
Shannon and Jade Walcott, of Edgewood, were injured in the Aug. 13 incident that killed seven people.
The Help Shannon and Jade fundraising party is being held Saturday, Aug. 27 to generate financial support to help offset the Walcott family's out-of-pocket and medical expenses, while they continue to recover at hospitals in Indiana.
The family is traveling back and forth from Northern Kentucky and has been told that it could be up to thirty days before Shannon and Jade could be moved to a closer facility and will have continued rehabilitation expenses for quite some time.
The Help Shannon and Jade Community Benefit is from 2 to 8 p.m. at Guys N Dolls 4210 Alexandria Pike Spring Kentucky, Admission is a $20 donation. The event will offer:
• Corn Hole Tournament – with special prizes, raffles and a 50/50 drawing;
• Silent Auction – including many unique and one-of-a-kind items including autographed guitar from country superstar Trace Adkins, artwork, golf, tickets to major sports events, and 40 other items
• Cake walk and more offering something for all ages; and
• An assortment of tempting and tantalizing snacks, desserts and refreshments
