Visitation set for cheerleading coach killed in stage collapse

NEWTOWN, OH (FOX19) -

Funeral arrangements have been set for Meagan Toothman.

Toothman died earlier this week from injuries she suffered due to the stage collapse at the Indiana State Fair. She was the varsity cheerleading coach at Turpin High School.

Meagan's life will be celebrated on Sunday, Aug. 28 from 12 to 6 p.m. at the Moore's Funeral Home in Newtown.

Her family released the following statement on Turpin's website: "Thank you all for your kindness and generosity. Our family is overwhelmed by our sweet girl's impact on so many people. There is some comfort in knowing that she had such a presence for so many people. Please continue to pray for the other victims of this terrible tragedy."

Meagan was a 2005 graduate of Turpin and a 2009 graduate of Wittenberg University, where she earned a degree in psychology. She was currently enrolled in the School Psychology Program at the University of Cincinnati, where she earned a Masters degree in Education. She was preparing to complete her final internship in school psychology in the West Clermont school district.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests a contribution to the Meagan Toothman Scholarship Fund c/o Turpin High School 2650 Bartels Road Cincinnati, Ohio 45244.
