The condition of a Cincinnati Police sergeant who was involved in a crash earlier this month on Columbia Parkway is improving.
Sgt. Ronald Schaeper, 46, was upgraded from critical condition to serious condition, according to University Hospital officials.
Schaeper suffered broken arms, legs and ribs, and he also had brain swelling from the Aug. 16 wreck. He has successful surgery the day after the crash to stop the bleeding in his legs.
The sergeant was injured on his way to work when he was hit head on by a vehicle driven by Raymond Weathers, 35.
Weathers is charged with two counts of aggravated vehicular assault in connection with the accident.
