The Terry Liggin at Holmes (1-0) got off on a good foot as the Bulldogs held off the Scott Eagles (0-1) with a 19-12 win.

Senior quarterback Charles Knox, who moved over from tight end last season, did most of the damage for the Bulldogs as he threw for one score on a 70-yard connection with Deland Hayes and rushed for another on a 16-yard scamper.

Scott running back Ryan Sowder kept the Eagles close by rushing for 88 yards and a pair of scores in the loss.

Holmes hosts Beechwood next week while Scott welcomes Taylor in an interstate matchup.
