They waited and waited, and lined up around the block.
Cars from all over descended on the Forest Park Kroger for some free gasoline Sunday afternoon.
"Each cent goes a long way, especially since I work in Blue Ash every day and get paid very little, so this helps, it helps a lot," says Sergio Foy.
It was all part of a gas ministry of sorts from Inspirational Baptist Church. Leadership at the church organized volunteers to help 333 cars get $15 worth of gas each. It was a project leaders say meets the needs of the community.
"Everyone that has a ticket with a number on it issued to them by the Forest Park police, they will get on these grounds and they'll get the gas," says Bishop Victor Couzens.
Folks lined up for the giveaway around 5 p.m. Many said they needed the extra help this month.
"Gas prices have been going up every day. It will go down to 3:33 and then go up to 3.75, so this right here, well this was right on time," says Tonya Cooper.
The church paid for $5,000 worth of gas.
