Tow truck driver hospitalized after rollover accident

BOONE COUNTY, KY (FOX19) -

The driver of a tow truck is recovering in the hospital after he lost control of his tow truck just before 10 a.m. Monday.

William Tagget, 50, was traveling eastbound on Verona Mudlick Road between Inverness Road and Porter Road. According to the Boone County Sheriff's Office, Tagget over-steered in an effort to regain control. The tow truck went through a fence and rolled over more than once.

Tagget was taken to University Hospital in Cincinnati by Verona EMS.

Phi Air Medical was originally called for air care but had to decline the patient (Tagget) because he was covered in diesel fuel. The collision is being investigated by the Boone County Sheriff's Department Accident Reconstruction Unit.
