FLORENCE, KY (FOX19) - The Florence Freedom will be supporting the fight against cancer by honoring and encouraging cancer victims, survivors and their families.
On Tuesday, August 30 the Freedom will take on the Gateway Grizzlies at 7:05 p.m. Thanks to local business sponsorships, over 1,500 tickets have been bought for donation to cancer victims and their families.
Each Freedom player will be wearing a special pink ribbon themed jersey that will be autographed and auctioned off after the game. Proceeds from the auction will benefit the I have Wings and Ashley Thompson Foundations.
During the 7th inning stretch the Freedom and Grizzlies will stop the game while all of the cancer victims and survivors in the ballpark will be welcomed onto the field to the foul lines and given a standing ovation for their courage and strength in fighting this disease.
