Cincy Team of the Week

Each week this season TriStateFootball.com will be nominating five teams for our Chick-fil-A Cincinnati Team of the Week award, highlighting schools that earned hard-fought victories.

Visitors to our website will be able to vote once per day from the time the nominations are released through 11:59 p.m. Thursday evening for the team of their choice. Winners will be announced weekly on Friday morning.

Teams are only eligible to win once during the season and will not be nominated again after winning the award the first time. All winning teams will be recognized by Chick-fil-A, a proud sponsor of high school football and supporter of the community.

Here are the Week 1 nominations from the Cincinnati area:

INDIAN HILL BRAVES (1-0)
After an injury-riddled 2010 campaign, the Braves picked up a quality Region 12 road win to start this season as they knocked off New Richmond, 20-12. A fast start could be the key to an Indian Hill bounce back this year.

LASALLE LANCERS (1-0)
The Lancers graduated one of the best classes in school history, but that didn't stop them from exploding for a 42-21 win over Oak Hills Friday night at Nippert Stadium as part of the Crosstown Showdown. They racked up 502 total yards of total offense in the victory.

LOVELAND TIGERS (1-0)
Beating Turpin was a big statement by the Tigers to kick off their season. Considering that they lost to the Spartans in the opener for the past three years by a combined score of 66-25, it's a step in the right direction for Loveland.

PRINCETON VIKINGS (1-0)
It was a great start to the Gary Croley Jr.-era at Princeton as the Vikings picked up a 40-33 dramatic win over the Anderson Redskins in Friday night's Crosstown Showdown matchup at Nippert Stadium. For all that this team has been through this offseason they were able to prevail in Week 1.

WALNUT HILLS EAGLES (1-0)
Walnut Hills is just four years removed from three consecutive 0-10 season. On Wednesday night last week, the Eagles picked up their biggest win of this century knocking off Wyoming 23-22 in the opening game of the Crosstown Showdown.
