Other Naval Officers and Sailors will be onhand to speak with shoppers and neighborhood residents about the Navy's critical mission and its broad-ranging capabilities.
Alcohol Free Bananas Foster Waffles
Minus the alcohol so that our Sailors can enjoy the fine things of life and still do our job serving our country no matter where in the world we are!
• 1 tbsp butter
• 1/8 cup brown sugar
• 1/2 under ripe banana
• 1/2 mango (optional)
• 1/4 tsp nutmeg
• 1/4 tsp cinnamon
• 1/4 tsp real vanilla
• Whipped cream (optional)
Peel and slice the mango into thick strips or cubes. Half the banana and slice it at an angle. Keep aside.
Put the pan on medium heat and add the butter. After the butter melts, add the brown sugar and stir until it integrates with the butter and melts. Add all the spices and mix.
Add the sliced banana and the mango. Let them brown a little on both sides.
Remove from the heat add the vanilla just before service.
