Group prays for peace in Cincinnati neighborhood

OVER THE RHINE, OH (FOX19) - A group of local pastors, ministers and faith leaders are praying to stop the violence in Cincinnati.

Project Nehemiah Ceasefire planned a prayer walk and cookout on Saturday at noon. The group began the walk in the 800 block of Poplar Street, near the corner of Linn Street and Liberty Street in Over-the-Rhine. The walk concludes with a cookout for the residents of Stanley Rowe Towers and surrounding residents.

The group identifies high crime areas targeted by Cincinnati Police, and develops a strategy to work with residents in that area to decrease violence. Ceasefire's goal is to promote healing and prevention through prayer and community outreach.

The group invites others churches to take part in these events. To get involved with Project Nehemiah Ceasefire, call 513-569-5660.
