Police: Man claimed he had bomb during bank robbery

WEST CHESTER, OH (FOX19) -

Police in West Chester are investigating a bank robbery in West Chester where the suspect reportedly claimed he had a bomb.

Police say the robbery happened at around 1:15 pm Saturday at the Chase Bank on the 7700 block of Cox Road. Police say the suspect walked in, showed the teller a note stating he had a bomb, and demanded cash.

After receiving the cash from the clerk, police say that the man ran through the parking lot of an adjoining business where he entered a dark colored vehicle with tinted windows (possibly a Chevrolet Malibu or Impala). The vehicle was last seen heading towards I-75.

Police describe the suspect as an African-American male about 5'8" - 5'10" tall, with a slim build. At the time of the robbery, police say he was wearing a black shirt, black pants, a Reds baseball hat, with a dark colored back pack, and wearing one "driving" style glove.
