The battle of Kentucky's top two quarterback's had a unanimous winner as Patrick Towles put on a show in Highlands (2-0) 61-13 rout of rival Dixie Heights (0-3). The UK-bound Towles threw for 407 yards, had three passing touchdowns and two scores rushing in his much anticipated match up against Auburn Tiger to-be, Zeke Pike. The Bluebirds dominated from start to finish as senior starter were pulled after two and a half quarters of strong football.
As for Towles, his assault would see him post 373 of his passing yards and all of his aerial touchdowns in the first half. He hit eight different receivers. Austin Sheehan caught four balls for 161 yards and a score. Backup quarterback Drew Houliston threw for 152 yards after intermission. When all the dust had settled Highlands would post 707 yards of total offense for the evening. To add insult to injury, senior Drake Bruns returned a punt for six points in the third quarter.

For Pike and the Colonels it is just better to move forward than to dwell on this loss. The senior was held in check going 13/25 for 109 yards passing with two interceptions by Bluebirds defensive back Carter New He did have 28 yards rushing and a touchdown.
Up next for Highlands is Louisville Western on Friday, September 9th. On that same night Dixie Heights travels to Conner (1-1).
