CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Monday's survey from auto club AAA shows regular unleaded gas is averaging $3.68 a gallon statewide in Ohio.
Compare that to the $2.71 Tri-Staters were paying last year at this time.
The AAA, Oil Price Information Service and Wright Express Survey shows Cincinnati gas customers are paying a few pennies more than the state average, with a price around $3.71.
The cost to fill up went up when Hurricane Irene impacted refineries on the east coast.
And now, tropical storm Lee is causing oil platforms in the Gulf of Mexico to halt production, forcing local drivers to change their driving habits.
The record high for regular gasoline in Ohio was $4.16 in May of this year.
