BLANCHESTER, OH (FOX19) - Police need your help in identifying a man accused of robbing the First National Bank in Blanchester around 9:30 Wednesday morning.
When officers arrived, they learned the suspect had fled in a blue Volkswagen Jetta 4-door with a red, white and blue design on the license plate. The vehicle has heavily tinted windows. Officers combed the area for the car, but did not locate it. After talking to witnesses, police determined the suspect left the bank and drove north on N. Wright St. to John St., which is the last place the car was seen.
Police say it is reasonable to believe that the suspect left Blanchester either via OH-133 North or via Middleboro Rd.
Bank employees described the suspect as a white man, wearing a green plaid shirt, tan shorts, white tennis shoes and a white baseball cap. He parked his car in the rear of the building. The suspect presented a note indicating he had a firearm, but none was brandished and no one was injured in the robbery. The suspect made off with an undisclosed amount of money.
Blanchester Police released a sketch of the suspect, along with a picture of a vehicle similar to the one they believe the suspect got away in.
