The Trinity Shamrocks traveled into The Pit on Friday and handed the Elder Panthers its worst home loss ever as they prevailed 56-7.

Trinity (3-0), ranked seventh in the nation in the latest RivalsHIGH 100, dominated Elder in every aspect of the game as they racked up 586 yards of total offense and did not allow the Panthers into the endzone until the game was well in hand in the fourth quarter.

Junior quarterback Travis Wright threw for 177 yards and three touchdowns, all of which went in the direction of junior wideout Jamie Quirk, who finished with 143 yards on seven receptions. Running back Dayln Dawkins finished the night with 124 yards and two scores on 17 carries.

Elder (2-1) played without starting quarterback Ben Gramke for the majority of the game after he hit his head on the turf in the second quarter. His status for next week remains unclear.

The Panthers will look to rebound in Week 4 as they hit the road to face Lakewood St. Edward. Meanwhile, Trinity will play host to another GCL South powerhouse, St. Xavier.
