Taft head coach Mike Martin will be tagged with "additional penalties" for breaking state football rules, according to an OHSAA spokesperson.
Tim Stried, of the OHSAA, says those penalties will be announced Wednesday morning and could include additional suspension to the two-games issued by Cincinnati Public Schools.
The district suspended Martin two games for breaking what CPS AD Dave Dierker calls a state rule by dressing five players for the season opener while still waiting for the OHSAA to declare those players eligible. Since then, one of those players has been cleared.
Martin will finish his CPS imposed suspension this Friday night. The suspension bars Martin from practice, meetings and the game against Withrow.
Stried says the OHSAA investigation "runs deeper" than the playing of the ineligible players and called it a "significant situation." The announcement is expected at 10am Wednesday.
