PLEASANT RUN (FOX19) - On Monday, 1,000 students, teachers, staff, and community members joined together in front of Pleasant Run Middle School to sing the Star Spangled Banner.
The tribute was part of a National Anthem Project led by the National Association for Music Education (NAFME). The campaign was first launched in 2005.
According to a Harris Poll, two out of three Americans do not know the words to the National Anthem.
The event included the UC Color Guard, Colerain Township Fire and Police and the Hamilton County Sheriff's helicopter.
Mark Hensler, the music teacher at PRMS led the sing-a-long.
