Cincinnati Mayor Mark Mallory will be joined by members of the police and fire union on Thursday as they discuss a plan to prevent future layoffs.
The press conference is scheduled for 2 p.m. at the Police Welcome Center at the Banks.
Police officers and firefighters have faced layoffs for the past few years due to severe budget cuts by the city. This year is not expected to be any different, as layoffs of 44 officers are already being discussed with the city facing a $33 million budget deficit.
