Hofbrauhaus files appeal against liquor license violation

NEWPORT, KY (FOX19) -

The Newport Hofbrauhaus has filed an appeal against a ruling that could have caused the establishment to lose their liquor license.

A ruling in August by the Kentucky Alcoholic Beverage Control Board said the Hofbrauhaus in Newport violated its liquor license due to operating a disorderly premise. The board ordered that Hofbrauhaus pay a fine of $1,250 by September 16th at midnight, or their liquor licence would be suspended.

However, on September 8th Hofbrauhaus filed an appeal with the Kentucky Alcoholic Beverage Control Board. The fines the restaurant owes will be stayed until a ruling is made in the appeal.

The appeal will have to be made through the Franklin County Circuit Court. A schedule for the appeal has not been set.
