Cultural Center at UC celebrates 20 years of service

The African American Cultural and Resource Center celebrates 20 years of serving students at the University of Cincinnati with a birthday party.

On Wednesday, September 21 the AACRC will be kicking off the anniversary celebration at their location from 4:00p.m.-5:30pm. Those in attendance will be invited to sign a giant AACRC birthday card, enjoy music and have cake an ice cream. Visitors will get to see video footage of the opening of the center and hear remarks from faculty, staff and former students.

The AACRC officially opened on September 21, 1991. They support the university's mission by recruiting, retaining, and encouraging the success of students of color at the University of Cincinnati. The center addresses the academic, social, spiritual and cultural needs of the African American student population.

The AACRC will be hosting upcoming events to celebrate their anniversary this fall.

AACRC Choir will perform Sunday, November 13 at the Great Hall, Tangeman University Center (TUC) at 6:00p.m. Tickets are $5.00 in advance and $7.00 at the door.

There will also be an AACRC Panel and Discussion that will be held Thursday, November 17 at the Russell C. Myers Alumni Center. The event will feature the AACRC's founding students, staff and community members with connections to the center.
