FAIRFIELD, OH (FOX19) - The Fairfield Police Department is investigating a shooting that happened around just after 2 p.m. Tuesday afternoon.

According to police, the shooting happened in the foyer of an apartment building in the 1500 block of Sherwood Drive, but the victim was found in the nearby 5200 block of Camelot drive. One male victim was found with gunshot wounds. The victim was taken to an area hospital, but his name and condition have not yet been released.

Fairfield Police say a short time later, they found 20-year-old Quentin D. Phoenix in a neighboring apartment community, questioned him, and charged him with Aggravated Robbery and Felonious Assault.  Phoenix lives in an apartment complex on Amberway Court in Colerain Township.

Indications are that the shooting was the result of an attempted robbery, and the handgun used in the incident was recovered by investigators earlier this evening.  Police are still searching for another person involved in the incident.  If anyone has information about this incident or knows the identity of the other person involved, they may contact the Fairfield Police at (513) 829-8201.

Neither the victim nor Phoenix lives in the Camelot East Apartments.
