KENTON COUNTY, KY (FOX19) - Kenton County Parks and Recreation has reached its goal of collecting one million pop can tabs for the Ronald McDonald House Charity.
Thousands of volunteers will gather at Pioneer Park in Covington, KY on Saturday to show their support and hand over the donation.
Each volunteer will wear a necklace made up of 500 tabs, hold hands and spread across the length of the park. Ronald McDonald will be there personally say thank you and accept the tab contribution.
The tabs are recycled to create funding for families staying in the House. In 2010 the tabs earned the Ronald McDonald House more than $16,500.
