Ground breaking on new Clifton store

A ground breaking ceremony for a $1.5 million renovation begins Saturday in Clifton.

Goessling's Markets will take the place of the former Keller's IGA grocery store on Ludlow Ave. Keller's was forced to close in January when owners could not pay their delinquent taxes.

The ground breaking is part of Clifton Town Meeting's annual Streetscapes Celebration. Mayor Mark Mallory will attend the ceremony and present a proclamation.

The grand opening of Goessling's Markets is expected for January 2012.
